Portraits
I refer to my portrait photography as candid because I think the best shots appear when people are being themselves. My work strives to capture the character and personality of the child and/or family in casual, natural settings. I've never liked the look of studio portraits so I prefer to shoot outdoors with (mostly) natural light. That being said, there is no doubt posed shots are still necessary in a portrait session and I definitely work them in. Feel free to contact me if you would like to hire me to shoot you and your family.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is a portrait session?
In general, sessions last about 1 hour but can take up to 2 hours, depending upon the age and number of children. I reserve 2 hours per session so there is plenty of time for breaks, outfit changes, feedings or anything else that might come up.
Where are you located?
I live in Redwood Shores, California, located on the San Francisco Peninsula. I don’t have a studio and only shoot on location. This can be a local park, your backyard, or we can head out to the Half Moon Bay area for beach shots. I lived out there for 15 years and know some great locations.
Can we include the family pet?
Of course!
What if I'm not happy with my portraits?
If for any reason you are not satisfied with your photographs, let me know and we will schedule a complimentary session. Your satisfaction is my goal.
What clothing should my child or I wear?
Simple, light, solid colors work best so as not to blend in with the background. Try to avoid patterns.
